A Starstruck Reunion with Deanna Bryant, Dave Berg, Liz Hengber & Wynn Varble

Deanna Bryant is an ASCAP award winning singer & songwriter. She is a native of Texas who has written songs such as, “Stupid Boy" for Keith Urban, “Johnny and June”, for Heidi Newfield, “Forever Love” by Reba McEntire and “Don’t Make Me” by Blake Shelton to name a few.

Dave Berg is a native of Portland, Oregon. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee in the early 1990s. Berg landed his first country cut in 1995 when Ty Herndon sent "I Want My Goodbye Back" into the country Top Ten. Berg’s songwriting credits include the chart-toppers “Somebody” (Reba), “Stupid Boy” (Keith Urban), “If You’re Going Through Hell” and “These Are My People” (both recorded by Rodney Atkins) and “Moments” (Emerson Drive). Berg was named Songwriter Of The Year by Billboard and NSAI in 2007. He was given the same honor by ASCAP in 2008. Berg has also had notable cuts by Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Darius Rucker, Jewel, Blake Shelton and Sara Evans among others.

Brooklyn born Liz Hengber has been writing hit songs in Nashville for the last 29  years…. She has had 7  number 1’s  and over 70  songs recorded by Artists ranging from Reba McEntire to Chris Stapleton.

Liz’s first publishing deal was at Reba McEntires Publishing company,  Starstruck Writers Group.    This is where her friendship and partnership with the legendary singer began.  In her first year at the publishing company her song “FOR MY BROKEN HEART” went to #1.   It was her first cut, First single and her first number 1. 

Liz  followed that with 3 more Reba McEntire Hits.  “Its Your Call”  “And Still” “ and “Forever love”  all went to #1. To date,  Liz has had 12 songs recorded by Reba.

In the year 2000 Liz also wrote hits for Andy Griggs and Clay Davidson.   “She’s more” went to number one and “Unconditional” Number 3. These back to back hits put  Liz Hengber in  Billboard Magazine’s top Nashville songwriters for the year 2000.

The year 2011 gave Liz a Gospel  Music Award  for her  song “A FATHERS LOVE” recorded by both Bucky Covington and by High Valley.   And in the year  2016 she was able to put a Grammy  plaque on her wall when the STEELDRIVERS  “The Muscle Shoals Recordings” won best Bluegrass Album.

Currently Liz is proud to be writing for Given Music Publishing  and equally as proud to be teaching lyric writing at Belmont College. “ Teaching is my way of giving back to this amazing community that welcomed a girl from Bensonhurst Brooklyn almost 30 years ago.”

Wynn came to love music at a very young age trading his brothers Grand Funk Railroad album for a copy of Jimmy Dean's "Big Bad John" and still has the scars to prove it. Growing up writing and playing honky tonks, he eventually made his move to Nashville. His first radio single was “Fit to Be Tied Down” by Sammy Kershaw. Since then, Wynn has had numerous hits including three number ones... all three were nominated for "Song of the Year" by the CMA and/or ACM. Wynn's three number one songs are: “Have You Forgotten” by Darryl Worley, “Waitin’ on A Woman” by Brad Paisley, and “I’m A Little More Country Than That” recorded by Easton Corbin. In addition to his number ones, Wynn's had songs recorded by artists such as Garth Brooks, Cody Johnson, Trace Adkins, Willie Nelson, Mark Chesnutt, Kellie Pickler, Lee Ann Womack, and many others.
