Adwela & the Uprising are an internationally touring 5 piece reggae band hailing from all corners
of northern and central Virginia. The band has been on the scene since 2014 and has been on
the national touring circuit since their 2017 debut album entitled "The road less traveled" which
debuted at number 28 on the Itunes music charts. Adwela & the Uprising dropped their
sophmore album entitled "ascension" in 2019 which also charted on the ITunes charts at
number 32 on the top 100 charts. From it´s inception the band has won the 2015 Virgina reggae
award for best new artist, been nominated for multiple Wammie awards, made numerous tv
and radio appearances all over the country, been in numerous press publications and shared
the stage with multiple Grammy nominees and winners.
Notable performances include opening for the likes of Ziggy Marley, Stephen Marley, The
Wailers, Third World, Inner Circle, Akae Beka, Culture feat Kenyatta Hill, Tarrus Riley, Afro Man,
Boyz 2 men, as well as performing overseas in Jamaica, Germany, Australia, and Vietnam.
