🎶 BALKAN MUSIC NIGHT RETURNS TO EVANSTON SPACE – JUNE 10! 🎶
🔥 After a sold-out show last year, Evanston SPACE proudly brings back Balkan Music Night on June 10, featuring an electrifying fusion of folk-punk, Balkan, and Eastern European sounds. This year’s explosive lineup is led by Fugu Dugu, Chicago’s most thrilling Eastern European-rooted band, and the legendary Enver Izmaylov, a world-renowned guitar virtuoso.
Fugu Dugu is a folk-punk revolution, a high-energy collision of Gogol Bordello’s raw energy and Patti Smith’s fearless spirit. Born in Chicago but infused with the wild soul of Moldova and Eastern Europe, their music is a cultural explosion—gypsy violins, Moldovan wedding chaos, and vodka-soaked rebellion. Led by Madame Broshkina, a classically trained violinist hailed as a “genius” by Oleg Skrypka, and Bucky Wanko’s incendiary riffs, Fugu Dugu has torn up stages across the U.S., turning every show into a full-blown Eastern European punk riot.
Joining them for this one-night-only event is the legendary Enver Izmaylov, a guitar master and pioneer of the two-handed tapping technique. His mind-blowing ability to blend jazz, Crimean Tatar, Balkan, and Turkish folk music has earned him the title of People’s Artist of Ukraine and collaborations with icons like Bobby McFerrin, Tommy Emmanuel, and King Crimson’s Pat Masteloto & Tony Levin. His custom triple-neck guitar and intricate time signatures create a sound that transcends boundaries and traditions.
🎟️ Last year’s show sold out—don’t wait to grab your tickets! Witness an unforgettable night of untamed energy, virtuosic performances, and a celebration of Eastern European culture like never before.
