Cut Hands is the most recent project from Whitehouse founder / power electronics pioneer William Bennet, and highlights his most consistently rhythmic work to date. Resident Advisor praises: “Though treatment is fundamental to numerous tracks...Bennett is judicious in his integration of power electronics tactics (feedback, white noise, static, squealing tones). Rarely, if ever, do they interfere with the evident reverence he holds for the timbres and textures unique to his instruments. Because of this, their acoustic properties aren't merely players in the music; they are the playing field itself.”

Along with acts like Black Dice and Oneida, Sightings is one of those rare bands that’s continually pushed boundaries at the intersection of abrasiveness and musicality, helping make the Brooklyn music scene feel fresh and exciting for over a decade. With releases out on Load, Ache, Ecstatic Peace and more, the trio of Richard Hoffman (bass), Jonathan Lockie (drums), and Mark Morgan (guitar & vocals) create what Pitchfork’s Marc Masters describes as  “a tense, turgid combination of minimalist structure and maximalist sound.”. LQQK is less eloquent but will add that Sightings is hands down one of our favorite live bands, and they are going to sound fucking massive on PA’s system.

This show has a special treat: a live (1st time!) duo from two legends, Carlos Giffoni & Keith Fullerton Whitman.Giffoni has established himself as a true jammer & as one of the most relevant curators of contemporary-out music via his work with No Fun (fest, label, etc). Giffoni uses modular synthesizers, custom-built instruments, and various modes of analog & digital synthesis - his recent work focuses on live analog synthesizer pieces in line with early cosmic-electronic and techno, while still maintaining the harsher edge of his previous noise works.  A walking-encyclopedia of electronic music, Keith Whitman's sprawling output encompasses a considerable variety of (essentially non-dance-oriented) electronic forms & sounds ranging from meticulously constructed ambient minimalism to frenetic drill'n'bass, plus academically minded compositional explorations of electronic music history, and highly abstract live laptop improvisation. As a performing and recording musician, a writer, an educator, and entrepreneur, he has been an active and visible proponent of vintage and contemporary experimental and electronic music of all sorts.
