Herlin Riley is a renowned jazz drummer, composer, and educator celebrated for his mastery of rhythm and his deep roots in New Orleans’ musical traditions. Born in New Orleans,Riley grew up immersed in the city's vibrant culture and its storied musical heritage. He began playing drums at the age of three and later developed his craft as a multi-instrumentalist, learning the trumpet before fully committing to the drums. After studying music at Southern University, Riley quickly established himself as a sought-after drummer, joining jazz legends like Ahmad Jamal, George Benson, and Harry Connick Jr. His skillful blending of traditional New Orleans rhythms with modern jazz elements has made him a defining figure in contemporary jazz.

Riley gained international acclaim as a longtime member of Wynton Marsalis's ensembles, including the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, where his powerful grooves and impeccable timing added a distinct energy to their performances. Tonya Boyd-Cannon is a Mississippi-born, New Orleans-raised singer-songwriter and classically trained vocalist known for her dynamic blend of jazz, funk, gospel, rock, reggae, and neo-soul. She began her professional career as a background vocalist for Jean Knight, famed for the hit "Mr. Big Stuff," and later gained national recognition as a Top 20 finalist on Season 8 of NBC’s The Voice. Boyd-Cannon's 2016 album MUZIC Is Life received critical acclaim, landing in ten categories in the first round of Grammy consideration. Her accolades include winning the 2010 Battle of the Crown Contest, leading to performances alongside artists like Anthony Hamilton, Kem, and Jaheim. Beyond her performance career, she is a dedicated educator and mentor, conducting youth vocal workshops in partnership with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation and NORD, and is the creator of the ARTcademics curriculum, which emphasizes both technical skill and self-expression in young vocalists.
