Becca Rae is a country music songwriter in Nashville, TN. In November 2019, she was declared the grand prize winner of "Nashville Rising Song" for her original song, "How Lonely Looks on Me." In June 2022, Megan Moroney released "Fix You Too", a song Becca Rae co-wrote with Megan and Adam Wheeler. The song was re-released as a duet with Kameron Marlowe in September 2023 for Megan's "Lucky - Deluxe" album. Megan Moroney earned a nomination for 2023 ACM "Best New Female Artist", and 2023 CMA "New Artist of the Year." The "Fix You Too" duet marks Becca Rae's first major label cut, and first cut to be played on Sirius XM "The Highway."
Country music trio Old Hickory released their debut album "Tuesday Nights at Scoreboard" in September 2023, including the song "Little More in Love With You"- written by Timothy Baker, Scott Sean White, Helene Cronin, and Becca Rae. In April 2023, Texas-based country artist Jessee Lee released "Where He Ain't"- Becca Rae's first cut to be played in regular rotation on Texas Country Radio. 2023 also saw the release of Makena Hartlin's "Less Lonely", a song co-written by Makena, Michael Keys, and Becca Rae.
Becca Rae has also had songs recorded by independent artists like Ava Paige, Tory Grace, Jon Mullins and Jessie Wilson.
She has opened in concert for country music recording artists Jake Hoot, Rissi Palmer, and Clare Dunn, as well as bluegrass icon Mountain Heart. She has performed her original music on legendary stages - The Bluebird Cafe, WSM 650 Radio, and The Ryman Auditorium. Becca Rae was also asked to sing the National Anthem at the White House on July 4th, 2023.
Becca Rae's writing style can be described as a blend of three major influences- classic country melodies, powerhouse female vocals, and emotionally charged lyrics. Before relocating to Nashville in June 2019, Becca Rae created and hosted the historic Sunrise Theater’s “Singer-Songwriters in the Round” showcase, a bi-annual event that highlighted original music from North Carolina. Her work in the local music community in Southern Pines, NC earned her the “Best of the Pines” award in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
