Mike Dawes is an English guitarist renowned for his innovative fingerstyle technique, which allows him to play multiple parts simultaneously on a single guitar. Widely regarded as one of the world’s top modern acoustic guitarists, Dawes has earned accolades such as being named 'Best Acoustic Guitarist in the World' by Total Guitar Magazine in 2017 and 2018. His viral success began with a solo guitar arrangement of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know,” which garnered millions of views. He has continued to captivate audiences with performances of songs like "One," "The Impossible," and "Jump."
Dawes has collaborated with renowned artists including Tommy Emmanuel, with whom he recorded Accomplice Vol. 3, and the GRAMMY-nominated band Periphery. He has also contributed to Justin Hayward's live releases, such as Spirits…Live, which debuted at #2 on the US Billboard chart. As an educator, he writes for Guitar World and Acoustic Guitar magazines and teaches masterclasses worldwide.
