CY CURNIN
For more than four decades, Cy Curnin has been connecting with audiences through his music. Known for his evocative lyrics and distinctive vocals, he developed a solid reputation in modern rock circles as songwriter and lead singer of The FIXX. More recently, Cy has also carved out a prolific solo career that has produced a number of projects. From time to time, when not touring with The FIXX, Cy heads out on the road for special solo dates. This time the shows will feature prolific musician Doug Beck along with classical cellist Rick Brandt. During these rare performances, Cy offers a wide range of songs from his own catalogue, a few reinvented FIXX classics and some surprises as well.
Born and raised in England, Cy had been singing in various bands around London when he met Adam Woods and they began to put together their own group, placing ads in local newspapers. Following the addition of guitarist Jamie West-Oram and Rupert Greenall on keyboards, and later, bassist Dan K. Brown The FIXX became an early staple on MTV through a string of thought-provoking hit tracks ("Red Skies,” “Stand Or Fall” "One Thing Leads to Another," "Saved By Zero," etc.) that have generated multi-platinum album sales.
