Montrose Live featuring Keith St. John, Dave Ellefson, Jimmy DeGrasso & Jon Levin
In 1999, more than 2 decades after the original Montrose band disbanded Ronnie Montrose formed a new Montrose band featuring Keith St John on Lead Vocals until his death in 2012. Since that time St John has organized dozens of “full house” celebration concerts bringing rock stars together and playing all the biggest early Montrose hits including Bad Motor Scooter, Space Station #5, Rock The Nation, Good Rockin Tonight, and the mega-hit Rock Candy. Through the years, these shows have become more and more popular and in demand. During St John’s tenure with Montrose, bassist David Ellefson (Megadeth), and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso (Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, YNT) were in the band for several years. This golden lineup of Montrose played to packed houses at festivals, arena’s, casino’s, and theatres across the U.S. as a well oiled “Montrose machine!”
In 2025, we present to you a new touring version of a band celebrating the the great Montrose music with 3 long term members of the mighty Montrose band (Keith being the longest time member of Montrose other than Ronnie Montrose)… along with a guitarist handpicked by the other three to be one of the best guitar players on the planet to properly represent Ronnie Montrose’s guitar stylings, tone, and overall vibe, namely Jon Levin from Dokken. Jon has been the only Guitarist to carry the George Lynch Torch in Dokken since 2003. Keith St John recorded a record with Lynch as well as sang lead vocals for lynch mob on several tour stints. In addition St John and Levin both got their first major label deal together in a band out of New York signed by Atlantic records. David Ellefson and Jimmy Degrasso also have an extensive playing history together prior to their time in Montrose.
Needless to say, Montrose Live is a rock solid version of the Montrose band built on some of the longest touring members of Montrose and will leave fans cheering loudly and wanting more!
