    Movements

    Post-Hardcore

Southern California outfit Movements combine post-hardcore passion and emo-rock angst reminiscent of bands like Touché Amoré and the Story So Far. Impressing Fearless Records, they signed to the label and soon issued 2016's Outgrown Things. Their first LP, Feel Something, continued their upward trajectory, hitting the charts in 2017. Their second set, No Good Left to Give, arrived in 2020. The band adopted a more melodic, indie rock sound on subsequent singles "Cherry Thrill (2022) and "Killing Time" (2023).

Formed in 2015 in Rancho Santa Margarita, the quartet is comprised of vocalist Patrick Miranda, guitarist Ira George, bassist Austin Cressey, and drummer Spencer York. Taking inspiration from Title Fight, Oceana, and Thrice, the friends combined angst and melody, recording their first demo, "Protection." After their live debut, Movements were picked up by Fearless Records, releasing their first EP, Outgrown Things, in 2016. Produced by Will Yip (Tigers Jaw, Title Fight), the short set included the singles "Kept" and "Nineteen." The band rejoined Yip in the studio for their debut full-length, Feel Something, which arrived in 2017. The album topped the Billboard New Artist Albums chart, debuting in the Top Ten of the Alternative Albums listing and within the Top 200 of the overall album chart. Following the success of their debut, they joined the 2018 compilation Songs That Saved My Life, contributing their take on R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion."

Returning to the studio, Movements recorded their sophomore album. Influenced by the life changes that followed their breakthrough, the urgent No Good Left to Give explored topics like love, life, and mental health, and was released in 2020. 2022 saw the release of the hooky, indie rock-leaning "Barbed Wire Body" and Movements continued in that direction on the upbeat "Cherry Thrill." The band started 2023 with the hard-hitting "Lead Pipe" and "Killing Time."

    Citizen

    Post-Hardcore

With the ability to excel in both quiet ballads and distorted rock anthems, Citizen (which recently expanded to a full quintet with the addition of former touring members drummer Ben Russin and guitarist Mason Mercer) has an incredible knack for channeling raw emotion and energy into singalong songs. On Calling The Dogs, the band exemplifies that passionate songwriting and styling while stripping back to what they do best: guitar-driven rock ‘n roll.

Picking up labels ranging from post-hardcore to shoegaze over the years, it’s reductive to try to categorize Citizen as anything other than one of the best rock bands around today. Evolving from teenagers playing local dives to a vibrant band capable of selling out theaters and hitting major festivals around the world, vocalist Mat Kerekes, guitarist Nick Hamm and bassist Eric Hamm have earned their reputation as both tremendous songwriters and a must-see live act — and they do both better than ever on their new album, Calling The Dogs.

    Downward

    Post-Hardcore

A band from Tulsa, Oklahoma with humble beginnings who have set to live beyond musical boundaries. What started as an idea amongst friends quickly became a passion to create music that satisfies all of their overlapping musical interests. The band offers an inspiring sonic take on the realm of alternative and post-hardcore. Downward finds themselves towing the line between what is seemingly light and airy (reminiscent of Radiohead) and at the same time beautifully crushing (akin to modern luminaries Nothing).
