"Sounds like Mellencamp singing with the Exile-era Stones." That’s how one fan recently described the rock ‘n’ roll of Michigan-based artist Sean Anthony Sullivan.
When asked, Sullivan sums up his brand of Midwest rock ‘n’ roll as “Bob Seger helping The Wallflowers work on their muscle car.” Inspired in equal parts by growing up in the shadows of the industrial Midwest’s auto plants and the music of artists like The Black Crowes and Bruce Springsteen, his sound—rich in guitar riffs and powerful vocals—is the perfect companion for a cruise by the lake or a weekend spent dropping a big block into a muscle car. A multi-instrumentalist with a raspy, soulful voice, Sullivan moves effortlessly between musical genres, but at the core, it’s always rock ‘n’ roll.
With his band, Sullivan delivers high-energy live shows with an unrelenting groove, drawing in audiences with infectious hooks, sing-alongs, and, as he likes to call it, a “celebration of rock ‘n’ roll.” Their sets often feature medleys that weave together his original catalog with teases of classic rock favorites, keeping the crowd engaged with unexpected twists and familiar melodies.
