Following the dissolution of their previous band, Small Wood House, at the start of the pandemic, guitarist Chris Corsi and vocalist Emma Shepard teamed up in the midst of lockdown boredom to work on the songs that would become Suitor’s debut EP, Communion. Joined in 2021 by guitarist Stephen Ovak (also of Jaite), bassist John Corsi, and drummer Ryan Matricardi, Suitor gigged around town regularly, sharing their spring-loaded guitar lines and Shepard’s throaty croon. Suitor recently recorded an LP in Lawrence, Kansas with contributions from one of their influences, Sweeping Promises. They describe the new full-length as more collaborative, with the noisy and pop-y extremes of Communion heightened.

Formed in the fall of 2006, FUSS immediately entered an 18-year hibernation, mastering the subtle art of doing absolutely nothing. Nearly two decades later, they’ve emerged from obscurity to proudly secure their place as Cleveland’s 5th worst band—a distinction they embrace with pride.
