About the Movie:
While shooting a war film, the director of Tropic Thunder tries to spice things up by dropping the lead actors into a real jungle, claiming he’s capturing their performance with hidden cameras. What follows is a wild and hilarious disaster as a group of hapless actors—including a drug-addled comedy star (Jack Black), a self-absorbed method actor (Robert Downey Jr.), and a clueless director (Ben Stiller)—unwittingly find themselves stuck in the middle of a real war zone. This sharp satire, which takes aim at Hollywood egos, absurdities, and cultural sensitivities, is as outrageous as it is funny—but it’s a movie that, in today’s climate, simply couldn’t be made.
